Last updated September 9, 2026. This notice describes the public prototype as delivered in this repository.
Information this prototype processes
The website serves public pages and may receive standard web-server information such as IP address, request path, timestamp, browser user agent and error logs through the hosting provider. The application itself does not create user accounts, set advertising cookies or store a visitor profile.
Contact form
The contact form is implemented entirely in the browser. Submitting it opens the visitor's email application with the entered message. The application does not save the form data. The email provider used by the visitor and SpecMeter may process the resulting email under their own privacy terms.
Theme preference
The light or dark theme preference is saved locally in the visitor's browser using local storage. It is not transmitted as a user profile.
Affiliate and analytics features
Affiliate links and analytics are disabled in the delivered prototype. Before enabling either feature, this notice should be updated to identify the relevant providers, purposes, data categories, retention and user choices required by applicable law.
Hosting and security
The site is intended to be hosted on Render. Hosting providers may process operational logs and network information to deliver and secure the service. SpecMeter uses response headers intended to reduce common browser risks, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Questions or requests
Contact hello@specmeter.com with a privacy question or request. Applicable rights depend on location and the nature of the processing.
This starter privacy notice is product documentation, not legal advice. It must be reviewed for the owner, marketplace, jurisdiction, analytics tools and affiliate configuration used at launch.
Purchase links are intentionally inactive
This public prototype demonstrates the comparison experience with fictional products. Live product content and tagged purchase links will be enabled only after the relevant Amazon permissions and API access are in place.
